Today, Guitar really do me proud, not that I've never been proud of them, but today, they exemplify a fierce spirit of professionalism and committment that burns in their eyes.
We chose 2 pieces that can make it or break it.
Four seasons-Spring, speaks of the elements of spring: birds talking, rainfall, thunderstorm and streams. Through our cheaper range of performance Guitar in the market, the only way to express the song is through playing as one with the ensemble, feeling alike, in harmony and in unison.
Bridge over troubled waters. A song, which original was heavily critic by me as sorrowful and subesquently sounding like a long uneventful marriage. The only way to make the song romantic, emotional and uplifting is to sing its tune and story as they play, encouraging and comforting.
Sing! Feel! My President echoes every practise..
Today, as they waited for their turn at the SCH, they gathered in small circle, humming to the tune of a tiny recording, no one need to tell them to be be focussed and behave. Everyone was there, listening, feeling, singing in their hearts, singing with gtheir friends. They sang in their hearts; SCH rules says we cant make noise. Not that other school cares. Some other schools were chatting away.
Tina,my conductor gathered the groups as they waited in line for their turn on stage. She need not say much. Eyes were on her, they understood exactly what she wanted. She conducted silently, they responded, in body language and eye contact. ACJC waited at the side, quietly, watching in awe.
We do not need elaborate costumes, we need no expensive guitars. But our presence is overwhleming. The team spirit feels insurmountable and unbeatable.
And if you look beyond the oiliness on my face, you will see the pride beaming through, the likes of a "parent" who shared their hopes and aspirations and who never stop believing in them.
Well done Guitar members! Your've once again created priceless moments in the history of NJC
