Important announcement for practices on concert week

Hey guitarists! THE CONCERT IS ON FRIDAY! I hope you’ve sold all your tickets! Can’t wait for the big day!

Before that, here is the coming week’s VERY VERY IMPORTANT practice schedule (Haha I hope it lives up to its label of “very intensive”):

MONDAY (Youth day holiday in lieu): 9am – 3pm (Mr Toh will be coming from 9:30 to 11:45) TUESDAY (working on Monday time table): 4 – 9.30pm (please inform your parents of the late dismissal and apologise on our behalf)
WEDNESDAY: 4 – 9.30pm
THURSDAY: 4 – 6pm
FRIDAY: 1pm – the concert starts!! (We’re dismissed from lessons at 1)

*EXCOS please note: We’re meeting earlier at 7.30am on Monday to get everyone updated on things and prepare the tokens of appreciation for the concert.

Note that if you end lessons earlier, you can always drop by TC classrooms (if it’s not in use) to do your own practice.
Please proceed to LT5 on Monday. If you are early and LT5 is not yet open, you can come to canteen round table. The EXCOs will be there. Any last minute change of venue will be posted at the cage.

WE EXPECT EVERYONE TO BE THERE ON TIME. (Early birds can revise their scores first. For those who ends lesson later than the starting time, please inform your SL.) Treat this as a sort of training for your SYF next year. Punctuality and commitment is very important.

ALSO, FINAL REMINDERS BEFORE MONDAY’S FULL REHEARSAL:

GUYS
1. Bring $5 to pay for silver tie
2. Bring about $30 for maroon shirt (all the guys will be going together to buy the shirt from Orchard OG after practice)

EVERYONE
1. Bring $7.40 to pay for Monday lunch, Tuesday dinner and Wednesday dinner which we have ordered for you. (Don’t worry, there’s no beef or pork, and there’s vegetarian and halal)

2. VERY IMPT: bring the money you’ve collected from ticket sales. If you’ve sold the ticket but haven’t collected money from the person, please pay for them first, then collect from them on Tuesday. Also please NOTE: everyone has to sell AT LEAST 2 Esplanade tickets ($32), if not then you will have to pay the $32 yourself.

3. To clarify (please inform your friends!): the LT5 and esplanade concerts are DIFFERENT! LT5 will feature 2 solo pieces by Mr Lim + small group pieces + exco piece; Esplanade concert will feature the alumni playing. So please encourage your friends who have bought Esplanade tickets to attend both concerts!

4. VERY IMPT: bring your full costume! Shoes included. (guys shirt will buy on Monday) If you’re not sure whether any part of your costume is ok (e.g. ¾ sleeves), just bring it on Monday and we’ll check for you (of course, it is preferable to SMS your SLs/IDOs to check before hand, for a quicker response)

5. Please pay guitar fund if you didn’t pay the last time. If you’re not sure whether you haven’t paid, please check the list of names in the entry below on Sunday (it hasn’t been updated with the latest payments yet).

6. Exam group members please remember to bring the performance file (or even stand) that you have brought home on Monday.

7. AT LONG LAST, THE GUITAR SHIRTS ARE HERE!!! We’ll be distributing them on Monday!
8. LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: REMEMBER TO PRACTISE HARD YOURSELF! Only when you get your part right, then we can play together as a section, and as an ensemble. And that’s basically what it means to play as an ensemble. Every single member counts. So please put in your hardest effort into this week’s practices. I know the practice schedule is quite overwhelming and almost everyone will find it hard to keep up with homework, but it’s the final stretch before our concert, and I hope you all feel the urge to reach your full potential on Friday night when you’re on that stage, so don’t let your SLs down, don’t let your friends and family down, don’t let the ensemble down, and most importantly, DON’T LET YOURSELF DOWN! You all can do it and we believe in you!

with love,
EXCO
